der Invasion der Türken schwer verwundet und erlag Ende des Monats
seinen Verletzungen.

Cypriot artists of the 20th century <Die anderen beiden sind Ioannis
Kissonergis und Adamantios Diamantis.> is dedicated to the painter George
Polyvios Georgiou (1901-1972). The work will appear in three volumes. As the
author testifies in her critical appraisal of this major Cypriot artist, it
was through Georgiou that Cyprus revealed itself to her, as he represents
'an authentic and very generous interpretation of Cypriot people, nature and
civilization'. This amply illustrated edition acquaints the reader with
Georgiou's work and is supplemented by rare photographic testimonies by Reno
Wideson, a lifelong friend and inspirator of the artist, who in turn also
provided inspiration for his work.
