Eine Münze aus Idalion im Besitz der Bank of Cyprus, ein
Drittelstater des Königs Stasikypros aus der Zeit um 460 v. Chr., wird dort
so beschrieben:
Vorderseite:
Sphinx seated to left, with curled <gekräuselt> wing upwards, one forefoot raised,
anthemium <Blume> below the raised foot and blossom under the body of the sphinx; in
dotted <punktiert> circle.
Rückseite:
Lotus flower on two spiral tendrils <Ranke>, in the left field outline of ivy-leaf
and in the right astragalos <Perlschnur?>; in linear and incuse circle.
Diese Beschreibung trifft auch auf die vorliegende Münze zu. |
